Women overtake men as top gadget shoppers

1 commentThe Sunday Times just published an article on women being the primary buyers this christmas for consumer electronics. It comes via data released by John Lewis saying that “electrical gadgets were more fun for women than ever before and no longer had a male, geeky image.”
Digital radios, iPods and digital photo frames top the list of things they are buying. Now, is this really what is happening or is it that they’re just buying gifts for their other halves - ho ho ho.

That was my first thought - that women are buying the gifts for their husbands/boyfriends and children. It could also be that men procrastinate more and they’re going to hit the stores this week. OR that men typically shop for gadgets for themselves at Christmas time, and this year they are not due to financial constraints or are waiting for post-Christmas sales.
Or…women need to catch up since they didn’t buy all the cool tech gadgets last year and realize they can’t live without wireless headphones and a video iPod.
Too many theories!
